"A.J. Calvin lives and works in northern Colorado, where she actively enjoys fishing, hiking, and above all writing."
That's the short description you'll see on the back of my books. Here is a little bit more about me:
I have been writing "stories" since I was in elementary school. The first stories were mostly silly things like "My Very Weird Brother" (a hand written and self illustrated story I wrote in first or second grade) that now just serve to make people laugh. I have always written stories "just for fun" but never started writing anything that I thought was worthy of others reading it until I was in high school. I was 18 years old when I finished writing The Moon's Eye, although it did not get published until seven years after I had completed it.
I grew up in Colorado, in the Longmont and Loveland areas. I got my Bachelors of Science in microbiology at Colorado State University in 2005, and am currently back in school again to get my teaching license. I enjoy being outdoors, and love living so close to the Rocky Mountains. My husband and I (when we have the time and opportunity to do so) like to go camping and hiking, and often go fishing in the summers after work. We currently live in Loveland in a little house we have been working hard to fix up with our temperamental cat, Magic, who mostly sits in the window and "supervises". |
