NaNoWriMo.org is hosting a 30-day event spanning the month of November, challenging writers - and anyone else who wants a challenge - to pen a 50,000 word book during the month of November. Go to http://www.nanowrimo.org for more information.
Based on my calculations, 50,000 words is equivalent to about 150 typed pages at 1.5 spacing. That's quite a challenge to do in 1 month! Good luck, and happy writing! |

It looks like the new website construction is underway again. I'm hoping to have the new site up within the next couple weeks! I have been told while the current site is transitioning to the new one, there will only be 15 - 20 minutes of downtime.
The new site is going to be very nice! It will be much easier for me to update and add content, with the additional bonus of me not having to bug the IT guys when I want to do something. There will also be some neat mouse-over button changes, and a whole new look. I'm very excited about the update, and will keep you posted on the progress! |
| Book Trailer Weekend |

You're probably wondering, what is a book trailer? Think of it like a movie trailer, but for a book. It's a short video preview of what the book is about.
This weekend (well, Saturday mostly, since Sunday is father's day and I have plans with dad) I'm going to be working on a book trailer for The Moon's Eye. We are actually going to film the trailer using a program called Fraps from within an online game. It's going to be a unique project, and should prove to be a lot of fun.
After the filming, I'll be putting the video together and editing it. I'm not sure how long that will take, but I'm thinking it won't be too terribly long before I have something up on this site for viewing. Until the new version of the site is up, I will probably not be able to post the video anywhere except in the forums/message boards - but I will update the news to let you know when it is up and available for watching. |

| It looks as thought the site upgrade is not going to happen until the end of the month, because my tech person is going out of town for 2 weeks. I was hoping he would have had it done this week sometime, but other things came up on his end and that is not going to be possible. So... look for the site update around the end of June! |

| I will be working in the next couple of weeks on updating and revamping this website. The new version will be easier to navigate and it will also have some very cool new features. However, there may be some downtime due to this here and there as we work on the upgrade. |
